Although, it may seem a bit surprising, the fact is that, actress Sonam Kapoor, who was assisting director Sanjay Leela Bhansali on ‘Black’, was given the task to audition some child actors for the role of young Michelle, with the elder version being portrayed by actress Rani Mukherji. While, the role was finally bagged by very talented child actor Ayesha Kapur, Sonam revealed that, the current toast of Bollywood, actress Alia Bhatt too, was auditioned by her for the said role.
Alia, who made her Bollywood debut with Karan Johar’s ‘Student of the Year’, had tried her luck in ‘Black’ as a child actor, which unfortunately could not materialize. Interestingly, Sonam and Alia are now contemporaries in Bollywood, with great admiration for each other’s work. Sonam, after assisting Bhansali in ‘Black’, proved to be lucky in bagging her debut movie ‘Saawariya’ with the filmmaker.
‘Black’, which has turned twelve a couple of days back, is one of the best works in Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukherji’s careers.
