Bollywood’s Kajal Devgn, who plays the lead role in national award-winning actor Dhanush’s upcoming film Velaiyilla Pattathari 2, is said to have put producer ‘Kalaipuli’ S. Thanu and director Soundarya Rajinikanth in a fix by demanding more money as the makers are planning to release the Hindi-dubbed version of the film simultaneously along with the Tamil and Telgu vrsions.
Kajol, an intense actress and who has paired up opposite Bollywood’s ‘Badshah’ Shah Rukh Khan in maximum number of films, is making a comeback to Tamil films exactly 20 years after her lone Tamil film as on date Minsara Kanavu. Directed by Rajiv Menon and starring Aravind Swamy, Prabhu Deva and Kajol in the lead, Minsara Kanvu was a runaway hit thanks to some lingering melodies by A.R. Rahman.
Amala Paul is the other heroine in the film and carries on from where she left off in the super-hit 2015 prequel Velaiyilla Pattathari. Velraj directed the prequel while Soundarya has taken up the mantle of direction in the sequel. The film’s shoot has been wrapped up some time back and the crew and even a teaser was released recently.
The film is slated to release in July on Dhanush’s birthday on 28th July. Kajol, who is a name to reckon with in Bollywood, is said to be wary of the release of the Hindi-dubbed version’s release and is demanding more money from the producer to release it in Bollywood, thus putting her producer and director in a fix!
