Former actress and TV host Simi Grewal, who was one of the lucky few to have got the opportunity to interview Tamil Nadu’s late CM J. Jayalalitha, was recently seen releasing a few unseen snippets from her show ‘Rendezvous with J. Jayalalitha’, which highlight some aspects of the actress-turned-politician’s private life. One of the snippets has the Tamil Nadu CM fondly addressed as Amma, disclosing about her keen desire of wanting actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to portray her onscreen character if ever a film on her life gets made in future.
However, J. Jayalalitha states that, Aishwarya would be an ideal candidate to play her younger version and not the way she is at present. Interestingly, Aishwarya’s role in her debut project ‘Iruvar’, which was directed by Mani Ratnam, was heavily inspired by the CM’s life.
Aishwarya, who was recently seen essaying the real life character of Dalbir Kaur, sister of Indian citizen jailed in Pakistan, Sarbjit Singh, in Omung Kumar’s biopic ‘Sarbjir’, is sure to be a game for essaying the role of Iron Lady J. Jayalalitha, if offered. It now remains to be seen as to which filmmaker will be the first one to make a move.
