Actress Amala Paul has hinted that she hasn’t yet ‘closed the doors’ on her re-unification with her estranged director-husband Vijay with whom she split last year.
The couple got married in June, 2014 when Amala hadn’t even turned 23 and within a couple of years, filed mutual divorce suits with Chennai’s Family Court citing ‘irreconcilable differences’ which had crept up between them.
While Amala started saying ‘yes’ to film offers and signed up quite a few films, Vijay directed the Prabhu Deva-Tamannaah starrer Devi last year, clearly indicating that they have started looking ahead in their lives. Amala fell in love with Vijay during the making of Deiva Thirumagal in 2011 and got married in Kerala.
“I can’t think of anything else other than my commitments to star in films for the next couple of years,” says Amala. To a query on whether she would re-unite with Vijay, she said that she had no idea as these things can’t be guessed/predicted. “Nothing is permanent in life,” Amala said, hinting clearly that she had kept the doors open for a possible re-unification with her estranged husband.
“We plan something and destiny pushes us into something; we have got to accept whatever comes our way and proceed with our lives. I feel I and Vijay would have been a happy couple had we met in different circumstances,” she said. “I’m neither angry nor upset with him and I still like him,” concluded Amala who has of late been taking singing classes to sing songs in films.
