Sai Pallavi, the Tamil actress who has been making waves in Mollywood, is all set to star in her first film in her mother-tongue. The actress, who is often described by Mollywood as the ‘girl with a Billion dollar smile’, is to make her debut in Kollywood with by pairing up opposite Madhavan.
The untitled film will be the Tamil remake of the Malayalam hit film Charlie and would be produced by Shruti Nallappa. Vijay, fresh from the success of his trilingual film Devy starring Prabhu Deva and Tamannaah, would be directing the film which is expected to go to the floors in the first fortnight of March.
“Though the film’s remake rights were secured some time back, we couldn’t find the right producer and hence the delay. We have reworked/modified the film’s script to suit Tamil audiences’ tastes,” says Vijay. Leon James would be the music director of the film which would be shot mostly in Pondicherry and in the picturesque locations of Tamil Nadu’s ‘Queen of Hills’ Ooty.
Shruti, the producer, says that other cast and crew members to work in the film haven’t yet been decided. For the record, Charlie featured prominently among the award-winners’ list in many categories last year at many awards ceremonies.
