Actress Keerthy Suresh has won the ‘promise’ she made to her mother and yesteryear actress Menaka about pairing up opposite Suriya in a film!
Keerthy Suresh’s mother Menaka, who played one of the two heroines opposite superstar Rajinikanth in legendary and late K. Balachande’s Netrikann which released in the early eighties, is supervising and assisting her daughter Keerthy’s career which has blossomed quite well. Keerthy seems to have mastered the art of bagging films opposite frontline heroes Vijay, Dhanush, Sivakarthikeyan, Suriya & Vikram Prabhu!
Her next release in Tamil will be Thaana Serndha Koottam opposite Suriya which has been directed by actress Nayantara’s beau Vignesh Shivan. Ramya Krishnan has essayed a prominent role in the film which is to release during Pongal in a few days’ time. Keerthy plays a Brahmin girl in the film and says she took up the offer as she liked her role in the film as well as Shivan’s style of narrating his script.
“I had been a huge fan of Suriya right from my School days; my mother had played Surya’s father Sivakumar’s heroine in three films and I challenged her that I’d play Suriya’s heroine in at least one film. My ‘promise’ has been fulfilled with Thaana Serndha Koottam,” says Keerthy who would be playing Vijay’s heroine (for the second time after Bairavaa) in his upcoming and untitled Murugadoss-directed film.
