The first-look posters of an upcoming film titled as Nadigaiyar Thilagam, which was the title of veteran Tamil and Telugu actress Savitri, whose facial beauty and acting talents had made her a living legend, was out on Women’s Day on Wednesday.
Produced jointly by Vyjayanti Movies and Swapna Cinemas and to be directed by Nag Ashwin, the film’s shoot is to commence soon. Savitri, married to yesteryear’s ‘Romeo’ Gemini Ganesan, had starred in many films opposite the triumvirate of heroes who ruled the fifties, sixties and seventies – Gemini Ganesah, MGR and Sivaji Ganesan. In a career spanning 31 years, Savitri had starred in more than 250 Tamil, Kanaada, Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam films.
The film’s crew released a special ‘first-look’ poste of the film showing Savitri’s unforgettable black-and-white image. Keerthy Suresh is all set to play the title role in the film which also has the soon-to-be-married Samantha in a prominent role. Details about artistes and other technicians to work in the film would be revealed soon.
The film is being made bilingual simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu, adds Ashwin. “It would have a powerful script and would have all the features of a successful film,” he assures.
