Karthi, who has just wrapped up the shoot of his upcoming film titled as Kaatru Veliyidai directed by ace director Mani Ratnam, has commenced the shoot of next film.
It’s a dream-come-true for Karthi, who recently completed a decade in Tamil films, to be cast as a hero in a Mani Ratnam film as he started off as an assistant director by assisting Mani Ratnam prior to his entry in films as an actor. Life has come a full circle for Karthi, who has earned name and fame with his ever-so-casual and realistic performance in serious as well as comic-filled roles in various films.
Directed by H. Vinoth of Saturanga Vettai fame, Dheeran Athigaram Ondru brings Karthi and the picture-perfect Rakul Preet Singh (not seen in Tamil films for more than three years now as she is busy in Tollywood) together as on-screen pair for the first time. The film’s shoot is being held in Bhuj in Gujarat and in Jaisalmer and its surrounding localities in Rajasthan.
“We have got the exact location we wanted and have been shooting non-stop for the past few days. We would be shooting some important sequences including some high-octane stunt sequences here,” says a member of the film’s crew on condition of anonymity and adds that the shooting schedule might last for 40 days.
Abhimanyu Singh and Bose Venkat play prominent roles in the film which is produced jointly by S.R. Prakashbabu and S.R. Prabhu. Ghibran scores the music of the film which is cinematographed by Sathyan Sooryan.
