Sayyeshaa Saigal, grand-niece of Bollywood’s veteran actor and ‘tragedy king’ Dilip Kumar, is all set to make waves soon in Kollywood by pairing up opposite ‘Jayam’ Ravi in his upcoming film Vanamagan. The actress has already landed up a mega-starrer even before the release of her debut film in Tamil.
19-year old Sayyeshaa has starred in a solitary Telugu film and a Hindi film so far. Making her debut in Tamil films after doing just two films is in itself an achievement for Sayyeshaa, who is already hailed as the next ‘big thing’ in Kollywood. She has also signed up as the solo heroine in Karuppu Raja Vellai Raja which is directed by Prabhu Deva and which stars Karthi and Vishal together for the first time on screen.
Incidentally enough, Sayyeshaa’s intro song Dumm Dumm in Vanamagan, produced and directed by A.L. Vijay, has also been choreographed by Prabhu Deva and she says she felt ‘blessed’ about it. “Prabhu Deva hasn’t been choreographing songs for a long time now and I consider it lucky that I got a chance to work with him first in this song and in his next directorial venture starring Karthi and Vishal,” she says.
“I pulled off a tough dance movement in a single take and won appreciation from Prabhu Deva who looked stunned,” smiles Sayyeshaa. “It was quite a tough movement t hat he hadn’t given to any actors/actresses for almost two decades; thankfully enough, I managed to pull it off with the Almighty’s grace,” Sayyeshaa says.
