Pranitha Subhash, who has been an actress for more than six years now, is biding her time to make it big in films. Speaking like a philosopher, Pranitha says that she believes in destiny and adds that her instinct often tellss her that she is destined to go the distance this year in Kollywood.
Pranitha debuted as an actress with the Kannada film Porki (remake of Pokiri) in 2010 and entered Kollywood the following year opposite Arulnidhi in Udhayan. After having starred in 20 films since 2010 and winning quite a few awards for her performances, Pranitha says everything happened in the same manner in which the Almighty had planned it to be. “I believe in destiny and owe everything to God’s grace,” she adds.
The actress has a powerful role opposite Jai in her next venture titled as Enakku Vaaitha Adimaigal. “I play an IT professional in the film and am neither ultra-modern nor deglamourized in the film. It’s a kind of both: I look stylish despite possessing a girl-next-door look. Jai was very cordial and is an artiste who follows his director’s instructions clearly. He is subtle yet effective in his portrayal,” opines Pranitha.
Born to a doctor couple, Pranitha also has Gemini Ganeshanum Suruliraajanum (opposite Atharvaa) on her hands. Though Regina Cassandra, Aishwarya Rajesh and newbie Aaditi Pohankar are part of the film, Pranitha is not insecure about her role in the film. “The film hasn’t yet commenced and I have lots to look forward to once it goes on floors,” says the Bangalore girl who has recently signed up a new Kannada film opposite Shiva Rajkumar.
“I choose my films based purely on my gut-feeling going by the script alone. I sure want to experiment with different roles,” concludes Pranitha, who runs ‘Bootlegger’ Restaurant in her hometown Bangalore.
