Actor Suriya’s upcoming film Si3, which was to release in theatres across Tamil Nadu and elsewhere tomorrow (26th January), would now be releasing only next week and not tomorrow, the film’s producers have announced.
Starring Suriya, Shruti Haasan, Anuskha Shetty, Vivek and Radha Ravi in the lead, Si3 is the third edition of the Singam series of films by director Hari and Suriya after their earlier successful ventures such as Singam and Singam 2. The film was to release towards the end of last year but was postponed for some valid reasons.
Finally, it was rescheduled to release in theatres tomorrow (26th January) on Republic Day. However, the unprecedented Jallikkattu protests indulged in by students and youths across the State forced Suriya to first cancel the film’s promotional he had planned in Tirunelveli and Madurai last week.
Though Jallikkattu protests have come to an end (albeit in a non-violent manner for no fault of the protesters) on Monday, the film’s producers have decided to postpone the film’s release by 8 days to release it on 03rd February (next Friday) by which time they hope normalcy would have completely returned.
